Training Course on Conflict Management

Human Rights Education Youth Network is organisning and international training course "Dialogue against the Fist, Understanding instead of Fear", which will take place in Bakuriani (Georgia) from 11 to 17 December 2009. This Training Course (TC) is dedicated to conflict prevention and promotion of peace, which will bring together young leaders from Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Romania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russian Federation in order to engage youth workers into debate about recent conflicts and cold relationship in the countries and how to find best way to keep constructive way to address them through cooperation in youth field.

This training will touch all type of conflicts: Intrapersonal conflict; Group conflict; Intercultural conflicts; Organizational conflict; Community conflict; Intra-state conflict; International conflict;

Training will also be also opportunity for youth workers to learn more about conflicts during implementation of the projects, and discuss real examples of conflicts, which happened during different types of projects within the YiA program and learn how to address them.

HREYN in the Advisory Council

Anca Ruxandra Pandea will represent HREYN in the Advisory Council on Youth in the Council of Europe for the next 3 years. The Advisory Council is made up of 30 representatives from youth NGOs and networks who provide opinions and input on all youth sector activities of the Council of Europe. It also ensures that young people are involved in other activities of the Council of Europe. Advisory Council on Youth is a part of co-management in the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe. Young people, together with the representatives of the governments of the member states of the Council of Europe take the important decisions on the functioning of the Directorate. Ruxandra is a member of the board of HREYN and she comes from Romania, representing BARAKA, a member organisation of HREYN. Congratulations Ruxandra.

HREYN in co-operation with the Council of Europe is organising a study session ‘Social Cohesion and Quality of Life – Human Rights Education contribution’, which will be held in the European Youth Centre Budapest from 8 to 14 February 2010. Full description of the activity  can be found HERE. The deadline for applications in 14 January 2010.
